I’m Jay Sullivan.

April 2nd, 2007

Jay Sullivan is a PC Systems Administrator at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), specifically the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences (CIAS). Since our computing environment is very unique, I figured I would give the world a chance to benefit from my stupidity. Bring on the karma!

We are a mixed Mac (60%?), Windows(20%?), Linux (10%?) shop; I deal mostly with the Windows and Linux side of things.  I’m currently a Dell Certified Technician; before I came to RIT I was an Apple Certified Technician.  My current goal is to rid the world of Windows servers, but that is slow going.  I rely on Altiris (errr…Symantic?) tools, specifically Client Management Suite Level II with Wise Package Studio Pro, to keep me sane and lots of good coffee to keep me awake.

Altiris Software Virtualization rules.  Jeremy Alison makes my favorite open source package (samba).  I like Jeeps and black labs.  My wife Denise is awesome.
